Walnut Creek’s Own: Wilson Stephens Honored by the San Francisco Giants and Inducted into the San Francisco Prep Hall of Fame
On a sunlit afternoon at Oracle Park, with the city buzzing and the field alive for a 1:05pm first pitch, I experienced a moment that will forever be etched in my heart. On June 12th, 2026, as the San Francisco Giants faced off against the Colorado Rockies, I was deeply honored by the Giants organization for my induction into the San Francisco Prep Hall of Fame for Basketball and Track, representing J. Eugene McAteer High.
Standing on the Mezzanine level, looking out over the field, I felt a profound sense of gratitude and humility. To be recognized among such an esteemed group—a fraternity of excellence—was a dream come true. But what made the moment truly unforgettable was having my wife Amanda and our sons, Walker and Amari, by my side. Their smiles, pride, and support reminded me that this achievement is not just my own, but a celebration for our entire family.
As my plaque was unveiled, I couldn’t help but think about the legacy we’re building. Knowing that my name will be immortalized at Oracle Park means that my kids, and even their kids, will see our family name honored for generations to come. It’s a testament to perseverance, community, and the power of dreams.
The ceremony was beautifully captured in photos and video, preserving every joyful embrace and triumphant moment. For those who want to experience the highlights, I’ve shared a collection here: https://www.dropbox.com/scl/fo/037wpuka4qhamdvwjbdaf/AAjARBG8Jt1gJpTDHSj9q8M?rlkey=uvhj7tvi0n2kfu4wz3ju6cae7&dl=0
Thank you to the San Francisco Giants, the Hall of Fame committee, and everyone who has supported me on this journey. This honor is bigger than basketball or track—it’s about family, legacy, and the joy of sharing these milestones with the people who matter most.
